Information You Choose to Submit
Text entered in a search form, such as a name, telephone number, or address, is sent to the outside provider that supplies the results. Our own servers do not retain a copy of that search. A message sent to us contains only what its sender chooses to provide, and we use it to answer the inquiry.
Information Collected Automatically
Standard hosting logs may record an IP address, browser type, visited pages, and timestamps. Aggregated log data helps maintain the service and shows which resources visitors use. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics and advertising measurement where those features apply.
Purposes for Using Data
Limited visitor data supports site operation, fault diagnosis, traffic measurement, and content improvement. We neither sell a visitor list nor create profiles about individual readers.
Privacy on Linked Services
Government portals, Wake County and North Carolina offices, library collections, and outside search services each apply their own privacy terms. Information entered after following a link is governed by that destination. The same is true for sponsored results supplied by an outside company.
Parties That May Process Data
Hosting and support vendors process logs for us. Analytics or advertising providers may receive the automatically collected data already described. Information may also be disclosed when valid legal process compels it; we do not otherwise distribute visitor data.
Safeguards and Retention
An encrypted connection protects traffic in transit. Server logs remain only as long as needed for the stated purposes. Because the service has no user accounts, it stores no visitor password or account profile.
Visitors Under Age 18
The service is meant for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly gather personal information from anyone under 18. Contact us if a minor appears to have submitted information so it can be removed.
Your Privacy Choices
Rights to inspect, correct, or delete personal data depend on where the visitor lives. The project research did not identify a general North Carolina consumer-privacy deletion statute that applies like an omnibus state privacy act. Session Law 2025-79 protects certain nonprofit affiliation lists from government disclosure, but it is not a general data-broker opt-out law. We can search our contact mailbox and logs for a request sent through the Contact page. Records held by Holly Springs, Wake County, or North Carolina custodians fall outside our control. Requests about those records must go to the office that maintains them, subject to Chapter 132 and other applicable law.
Changes to This Policy
A revised policy will appear here when changes are made. Using the service after a revision takes effect signifies acceptance of the updated terms.
